  • April 17, 2004:  Rebekkah Brunson '04 drafted in the first round, 10th overall, by Sacramento.

 

  •  Most points in a single game: 47 by Cheryl Nemetz '76 vs. Gallaudet during the 1972-73 season.

 

  • First Hoya to play in the WNBA was Katie Smrcka-Duffy '01.

 

  • Most field goals in a game (17) were recorded by Kris Witfill on January 24, 1991 versus Boston College.

Swimming & Diving

  • October 25, 2008:  Coach Steven Cartwright’s first win over a BIG EAST Opponent, winning a dual meet over Providence.


  •  Susan Kohl '84 was the first women’s captain in the 1980-81 season.

 

  • Dick Tietje was the first swim team captain in the 1950-51 season.

 

  • February 21, 2008:  Caitlin Colling, Mallory Kiplinger, Laura Alito, and Lindsay Vickroy set the Georgetown record for 200 Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:37.08.

 

  • McCarthy Pool, home of Georgetown Swimming and Diving, opened in 1979.
